We're In A New York State of Mind
Guys, how is January over?! This month sped by for us! From the Ann Arbor Puck Drop & the most epic game of Just Dance 4 ever played, to the NHL Winter Classic and the many polar vortex extreme cold & snow days, to handfuls of new couples we welcomed to the Rock Paper Scissors family, we've had a packed January.
This weekend, taking the advice of one of our favorite designers, Anna Rifle Bond, and her "Travel America Calendar," we're spending our last days of January and first days of February in New York City (watch out!). We'll be at the NYNOW International Gift Fair picking out the best of the best in gifts & stationery to add to the store in 2014 (not to mention eating and drinking our way through the Superbowl invaded city).
And shhh, but even more exciting (in our crazy lil' paper obsessed world), later next week, we've been selected to help judge the LOUIE Awards. Officially known as the International Greeting Card Awards Competition, the LOUIE Awards recognize the most outstanding greeting cards, invitations and announcements marketed in the U.S. during the previous calendar year. Some of our favorite designers like, Rifle Paper Company, 1 Canoe 2, Ladyfingers Letterpress, 9th Letterpress, Smock, Sycamore Street Press, and Hello Lucky have been past finalists! We can't wait to spend a few days with people who love paper as much as we do and get to ooh and ahh over all of the amazing finalists!
We can't think of a better way to close out January and start out our February than heading to New York, although I can promise you, you won't find me in a canoe in this weather (regardless of how Rifle Paper Co. depicts NYC in January in the gorgeous calendar above).
