POP-X fills all the levels of Liberty Plaza

POP-X fills all the levels of Liberty Plaza[/caption] POP-X is a celebration of art, artists, and public open space. POP-X is an outdoor art exhibition in Liberty Plaza (just a short walk from Rock Paper Scissors!). POP-X is more than just viewing art, it's a whole new way to experience art. Interactive exhibits, art-making activities, speakers series, and music are all part of the exhibition. POP-X runs for 10 days (it began yesterday) and is free and open to the public. Parks , open space, and public art are some of the things we have in abundance here in Ann Arbor that really enhance our quality of life and POP-X does a great job of showcasing those amenities. We love that POP-X engages our community in conversations and experiences around art. We love seeing this downtown space activated and programmed and we love that POP-X has something for everyone of all ages. It's a completely different experience than visiting an art museum or gallery. The POP-X exhibits encourage visitors to really engage with the art. The feeling of immersion in the artwork is unique and happens every time you step into one of the pavilions.

A new feature at this year's POP-X is this pavilion made from water balloons and emergency water rations. It asks visitors to think about the juxtaposition of water filling balloons for summertime fun versus water filling packs that are essential to life for some people in our world

For $5 visitors can immerse themselves in a uniquely designed tiny pub and enjoy a beer. Hurry and visit POP-X before it ends on October 1st and tell us what you think! We'd love to hear if you have a favorite pavilion.
